
Notice the records and trends in each location:
Washington D.C.: In 2026, at the Easter Vigil 1,755 people will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Washington. Of those 1,755 adults, 655 are young adults between the ages of 20 and 35. In 2025, over 1500 were received. In 2024 that number was just over 1300. In 2023 it was just over 1,000. And in 2022, it was just over 800.
Portland, Oregon: The Diocese of Portland Oregon is welcoming over 1,700 people into the Catholic Church at this year’s Easter Vigil, up from 1,200 in 2025, and 960 in 2024.
Paris, France: At this year’s Easter Vigil, 788 people will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Paris. This is the largest number ever recorded in the Archdiocese, up 17% from last year’s 672.
France: In 2025, more than 10,380 adults were baptized into the Catholic Church in France, most of them between 18 and 25 years of age. That was the highest number in 20 years, and a 45% increase from 2024. The number of people being received into the Catholic Church in France in 2026 is expected to be much higher, possibly double that of last year. The numbers of young men in France partaking of propadeutic courses as Pre Seminary Formation has increased by 50% since 2023.
Westminster, England: In the Diocese of Westminster in the UK, approximately 800 people are expected to be received into the Catholic Church at this year’s Easter Vigil. This represents a 60% increase from last year’s approximately 500 persons, and marks the highest number in fifteen years.
Denver, Colorado: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, approximately 771 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Denver. This marks a 35% rise over last year’s number.
Cleveland, Ohio: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 1029 people are being received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Cleveland, up from 812 in 2025, which was up from 542 in 2024, which was up from 465 in 2023.
Newark, New Jersey: A record 1,701 people will become Catholic this Easter in the Archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey—396 more than in 2025, and up 72% from 2023.
Kansas City, Missouri: At the 2026 Easter Vigil 733 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, well over the 430 in 2025, and the 334 in 2024.
Memphis, Tennessee: At the 2026 Easter Vigil 453 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Memphis. This is up from 428 in 2025, which was up from 302 in 2024.
Venice, Florida: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 1,072 people are being received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Venice, surpassing the previous record of 662 in 2024.
Boston, Massachusetts: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, nearly 700 people will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Boston, up from 458 in 2025, and 360 in 2024.
Belgium: The number of adults being received into the Catholic Church in Belgium at the Easter Vigil this year is 689, 30% higher than last year’s 534, and has increased 300% in ten years.
Vancouver, British Columbia: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 770 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Vancouver. That’s a record high, beating last year’s 725, which was double the number in 2024.
San Francisco, California: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 700 adults will be received into the Catholic Church, up from 654 in 2025, and 444 in 2024. A record 100 people will become Catholic at the Easter Vigil this year at St. Dominic’s Church in San Francisco, in the heart of the Bay Area’s tech region. Last year it was 70 adults.
Dublin, Ireland: St Mary’s Cathedral is receiving 129 adults into the Catholic Church this Easter Vigil, up from 70 in 2025, and 14 in 2022. This is the largest number of adults being received into the Archdiocese of Dublin in its history.
San Diego, California: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, a record 1,846 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of San Diego. In 2025 it was 1,453.
Lansing, Michigan: 940 people will be received into the Catholic Church at this year’s Easter Vigil in the Diocese of Lansing in Michigan — the highest number in two decades. That’s up from 633 in 2025, and 413 in 2022.
Tulsa, Oklahoma: “Close to 1,000 people will become Catholic at this year’s Easter Vigil in the Diocese of Tulsa, Oklahoma — more than double last year’s total.”
Atlanta, George: 3,442 people will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Atlanta at this year’s Easter Vigil. In 2025 it was around 3,000. And in 2024 it was approximately 2,564.
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: At the Easter Vigil nearly 1,000 people will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. Last year’s number was 635.
Phoenix, Arizona: An estimated 1,600 people will be received into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil in the Diocese of Phoenix, the second year in a row that the record has been broken. At the 2025 Vigil, 1,116 adults were received.
Seattle, Washington: At this year’s Easter Vigil, 1,595 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Seattle. That is up from 1,329 in 2025. “Over the past few years, we have seen increases each year in the number of people entering the Catholic Church.” – Archbishop Etienne (Feb. 24, 2026)
Worcester, Massachusetts: At this year’s Easter Vigil, 374 adults are being received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Worcester. That’s up from 323 in 2025, which was up from 259 in 2024, which was up from 128 in 2022.
London, England: Almost 800 adults are being received into the Catholic Church this Easter, a 60% increase from last year.
St. Augustine, Florida: At this year’s Easter Vigil, 1,263 adults will be received into the Catholic Church. Last year it was 952.
Southwark, England: Over 590 adults are being received into the Catholic Church at the 2026 Easter Vigil, the highest number since 2011, and an increase from 450 adults received last year. Of the 590 being received this year, nearly half of them are under the age of 35.
Saint Louis, Missouri: “Over 1,000 people are preparing to be received into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil in the Archdiocese of St. Louis this year — a 48% increase from last year at the Rite of Election.” – St. Louis Review
Detroit, Michigan: At the 2026 Easter Vigil 1,428 adults are being received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Detroit, the highest number in twenty-one years, and a 37% increase from last year’s 977, which was higher than the 793 received in 2024. The 977 in 2025 was the highest number since 2017.
Baltimore, Maryland: “More than 1,200 people will become Catholic in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Maryland at this year’s Easter Vigil – an increase of 67% compared to last year.” In 2025, 778 adults were received; in 2024, 669 were received.
Nottingham, England: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 249 will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Nottingham. This is the highest number in forty years.
Shrewsbury, England: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 171 adults will be received into the Catholic Church. This is up from 100 in 2025, and 82 in 2024.
Canberra, Australia: At this year’s 2026 Easter Vigil, 110 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn, about three times as many as in 2025.
Covington, Kentucky: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 420 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Covington. “This is a record-breaking number, an increase of 57.3 percent over last year and a 105.9 percent increase over the five-year average.”
Fort Worth, Texas: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 1,550 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Fort Worth, up from 1,544 in 2025, which was up from 896 in 2023.
Mobile, Alabama: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 603 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Mobile. That is up from 447 in 2025, and 355 in 2024.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, approximately 1,200 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. That’s up from 725 in 2025, and 659 in 2024.
Steubenville, Ohio: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 149 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Steubenville, up from 106 in 2025, and 76 in 2024.
Houston, Texas: At this year’s Easter Vigil, a record of 2,995 people will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, up from 2,955 in 2025, and 2,364 in 2024.
Richmond, Virginia: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, a record 900 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Richmond. Each year for the last four years has reached a new high. In 2025 it was 650; in 2024 it was 546.
Evansville, Indiana: At this year’s Easter Vigil, 347 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Evansville. That’s a 40% increase from the 248 in 2025, and more than double the number of persons received in 2024.
Davenport, Iowa: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 410 people will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Davenport. That’s 176% more than last year’s 232.
Sydney, Australia: The Archdiocese of Sydney, Australia, is preparing to welcome a record number of converts—nearly 460—into the Church at Easter. “St Mary’s in Sydney, Australia has 338 catechumens awaiting baptism representing a 35 percent increase in just one year and 119 candidates for full communion, a 95 percent increase.”
Rockford, Illinois: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, more than 1,040 will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Rockford. According to the bishop, “this year already our number is bigger than last year.” In 2025 the number was about 1,040. In 2024, the number was 743. In 2023 it was 481.
Melbourne, Australia: A record 550 people will become Catholic in the Archdiocese of Melbourne, Australia, at this year’s Easter Vigil — a 57% increase from last year’s 350.
Glasgow, Scotland: “The Archdiocese of Glasgow has seen a 20% increase in the numbers of adults entering the Catholic Church this year.” Last year 99 adults were received into the Catholic Church; this year that number is about 120. In 2024 it was 79.
Motherwell, Scotland: Over 110 people will become Catholic in the Diocese of Motherwell in Scotland at this year’s Easter vigil, up from 72 in 2025, and 45 in 2024.
Orlando, Florida: A record number of 941 people will enter the Catholic Church at this year’s Easter Vigil in the Diocese of Orlando, Florida. In 2025 more than 800 were received, which was 200 more than in 2024.
Liverpool, England: The Archdiocese of Liverpool is receiving more than 200 people into the Catholic Church at this year’s Easter Vigil, a record number, up from the previous record of 140 in 2025. At the 2024 Easter Vigil, 110 people were received.
Youngstown, Ohio: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 282 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Youngstown. This is a 47% increase from last year.
Madison, Wisconsin: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 367 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Madison. This is the largest number in at least seven years. In 2025 the number was 270, and in 2024 the number was 234.
Cardiff-Menevia, Wales: At the 2026 Easter Vigil over 150 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Cardiff-Menevia. This is a number “notably higher than last year, and part of a clear upward trend in people entering the Church.” (Archdiocese of Cardiff-Menevia website) In 2025 the number was about 100.
Cincinnati, Ohio: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 1,096 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. That is its highest number since 2009. The number in 2025 was about 850.
Birmingham, England: The Archdiocese of Birmingham is receiving 304 catechumens and candidates into the Catholic Church this Easter Vigil, up from 201 last year, and 130 the year before.
Rochester, Minnesota: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, over 300 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Winona-Rochester. This is a record, “surpassing last year’s highest number of participants in recent memory.” In 2025 it was 251. In 2024 it was 150.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Over 1,100 people will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia at this year’s Easter vigil. That number was 725 in 2025, and 661 in 2024.
Baltimore, Maryland: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, more than 1,280 adults will be received into the Catholic Church, up from 778 in 2025, and 663 in 2024.
Minneapolis, Minnesota: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 1,736 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. That’s up from 1,126 in 2025.
Saint Petersburg, Florida: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 746 people will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Saint Petersburg. In the 2025 the number was 531.
New Orleans, Louisiana: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, over 720 will be received into the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. In 2025, that number was just under 600.
South Bend, Indiana: At the 2026 Easter Vigil, 787 adults will be received into the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, a record for the diocese. “2025 saw an unexpected jump – we had over 150 more than in any of the previous 15 years – and now 2026 has exceeded last year’s attendance by well over 100.” At the University of Notre Dame, 163 students are in OCIA, surpassing last year’s record-breaking number of 55 students.
