Mine Forever: An Augustinian Hymn by Carlos Colón (arr. Luce)

This new hymn is inspired in St. Augustine’s Confessions. You can listen here:

The strings arrangement is by English arranger and producer Carey Luce. Vocals by Liz Rogers, Bronwen Kirby, Geraldine Luce and Bea Dorsett.

Too late have I loved you, O Beauty so ancient, O Beauty so new.
Too late have I loved you! You were within me but I was outside myself, and there I sought you!
In my weakness, I ran after the beauty of the things you have made.
You were with me, and I was not with you.
The things you have made kept me from you – the things which would have no being unless they existed in you!
You have called, you have cried, and you have pierced my deafness.
You have radiated forth, you have shined out brightly, and you have dispelled my blindness.
You have sent forth your fragrance, and I have breathed it in, and I long for you.
I have tasted you, and I hunger and thirst for you.
You have touched me, and I ardently desire your peace.

Pilgrims of Hope by Carlos Colón

I wrote this two-part composition for the Jubilee of Hope inspired by Romans 5:5: “… and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” For scores: carloscoloncomposer at gmail …

Pilgrims of Hope (Peregrinos de Esperanza)

O pilgrims of hope, lift up your hearts;

Lift up your hearts to Jesus Christ.

And sing to the world this song of joy,

Go, and sow seeds of joy and hope.

Hope does not disappoint,

For the love of God

Has been poured into our hearts

By the Holy Spirit.

Coda: O Come, pilgrims of hope.

Sing with faith, hope, and love.

O come, pilgrims of hope!

Peregrinos de Esperanza

A Nuestro Jesús, eleva hoy

Con Esperanza el corazón;

Y ven a cantar con gozo_al Señor,

Planta semillas de salvación.

La Esperanza

no nos defraudará,

Pues el Espíritu Santo

Es quien nos la dá.

Coda: ¡Venid, con Esperanza, fé, y amor.

¡Venid, O peregrinos!

For scores, see Santo, Santo, Santo hymnal.

Me alegré

Me alegré con los que me decían,

Vamos a la casa de Jehová.

Me alegré con los que me decían,

¡Vamos a la casa de Dios!

Jerusalén, Jerusalén,

Ya están aquí nuestros pies.

Jerusalén, Jerusalén,

Ya están aquí nuestros pies.

I was glad, I was glad when they said to me,

Let’s go to the house of the Lord our God.

I was glad, I was glad when they said to me,

Let’s go to the house of the Lord!

Jerusalem, Jerusalem,

our feet are ent’ring your gates.

Jerusalem, Jerusalem,

our feet are ent’ring your gates.
